Stop Dumping Mining Waste In Our Waters
ACROSS the Appalachians, coal mining companies are destroying entire mountains in a practice known as mountaintop removal mining and are polluting thousands of miles of streams and rivers as they dump the waste into our waters. Urge President Obama to reinstate the previous longstanding prohibition on dumping mining waste into streams and lakes.

Light of the Lime
The lights are back on at the legendary Limelight in NYC but not like they used to be. The historic nightclub/church has been transformed into a full fledged market. Some folks have expressed their disdain for the transformation but personally I think it is a great reuse of the space. Lets face it, you are never going to be able to recapture the essence the former club had in its heyday. New York is a different city now and reusing the space in any capacity to show off its architectural beauty is all good with me. Check out some of the pics I took while passing by the neighborhood…
Welcome…
Check out the stained glass windows.
A shot from the second floor.
The new sign outside.
Some more original windows.
They even have a farmers market out back.

Check out the paintings of the multi-million dollar art heist that took place last night at the Paris Museum of Modern Art. Works by Picasso, Matisse, Georges Braque, Amedeo Modigliani and Fernand Léger were all stolen. Valued at about $124 Million, it is estimated that the illegal art market is a $6 Billion dollar industry! Picasso anyone?

International Open Jiu-Jitsu Championships
MAY 1st 2010 I had the honor to attend and compete at the International Open Jiu-Jitsu Championships hosted by the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation in New York City twice a year. I was impressed by the event’s turn out and efficiency. Congrats to all competitors, coaches, and academies!
Check out a few flicks below, in the last picture: Renzo Gracie / Silver Fox teammate Brian Long taking gold in his division.
Eyjafjallajökull
Yes, that’s actually a word! Don’t ask me how to pronounce it but its Icelandic for island-moutain-glacier. Check out this cool video by Sean Stiegemeier showcasing Iceland’s infamous volcano.
